SNOW DAY IN RED DEER | PERSONAL

I’m learning to embrace the holiday season this year. I’m taking baby steps. I’m starting off with a pinch of bold Christmas color.

Mike’s going to hate me for putting up this photo, but I couldn’t resist. After seeing this, who wouldn’t want Mike Wiseman as their Realtor?

CATTLEYA CHIC | FLORIST

This weekend, I had the pleasure to hang out with a great friend of mine who happens to be an amazing florist. She has the kindest heart & quite a creative soul. Her name is Katrina George. In 2010, she will be beginning a new venture by opening up her own modern floral shop. She has already begun to take work for 2009-2010 weddings. Recently she asked me if I could document some of her wedding florals for her portfolio. I don’t know much about flowers, but I do know she is a force to be reckoned with.

This tall floral sculpture is part of a centerpiece. We chose to shot it outside since the light was just so perfect, I couldn’t pass it up.

The brides gorgeous bouquet… so full, vibrant, and very elegant.

Presenting the beautiful & very talented, Miss Katrina George.

The beginning of some amazing & beautifully scented centerpieces.

Another sweet smelling centerpiece. Filled with vanilla coffee beans, the aroma itself was enough to making the room feel magical.

BABYCAKES CUPCAKERY! | SUPPORT 3/50

When I initially blogged about the 3/50 project I got a lot of fantastic responses about local businesses in town I could check out. Babycakes Cupcakery was one of the most popular ones. So I decided to make my first month about Andrea and Diana’s fabulous cupcake & coffee shop: Babycakes Cupcakery. From the moment I walked in, I felt the embrace of that sweet smell of those delicious treats. I have had Babycakes cupcakes before, but I have never been able to go in and see all the different flavors they have to offer. Since I’m a simple chocolate kind of girl,  I always go with Grandma’s Lil’s Double Chocolate (what more could I want, it’s got double the chocolate!). Besides the cupcakes, the ambiance and hospitality of this cute & charming shop is overwhelming. It’s situated in Eastview, off of Erickson Drive & Ross, which is super easy to find and they have lots of parking! The owners, Andrea & Diana are also quite charming. They always make me feel so welcome when I stop by for coffee and a cupcake. I will definitely keep supporting this humble cupcake shop, so expect to get a cupcake or two on any upcoming birthdays or get togethers!

Also, if you’re interested in getting some free tasters, Mike is doing his “Back to the Grind” giveaway next week with a gift certificate to spend at babycakes. Here is the link to Mike’s site: www.mikewiseman.com

11.04.09 | PERSONAL

Mike and I ventured out of our cozy office earlier this week to take some photos for his neighborhood updates. We ended up going to the Vat building and taking some fun portraits there.

I really liked this series of photos, so I’m posting them on the blog.

Oh and P.S., here’s a photo of Chupacabra being his cute, adorable self.
