On April 24th, Shannon Sewell, an American lifestyle photographer is coming to give 20 Central Alberta lifestyle photographers a workshop. During the workshop she is going to be showing us how she interacts with children while shooting them.
This is where YOU come in…If you have or know someone who has adorable children who will undoubtedly feel comfortable in front of a large group of photographers, this is your chance to audition. Your children get a free session with the amazing Shannon Sewell. You will also receive all the digital files from the session. Start emailing me photos with names & ages. I am looking for 2-3 siblings ages (3-14).
Please remember, being photographed is already quite intimidating so please think of how your children would feel. If you don’t think they will suit this assignment, please don’t audition. Once I have found the top 10 choices, I will be putting them on the blog. We will have a vote for the winner of the free session with Shannon Sewell.
Please check out her site: www.shannonsewell.com
Casting Call ends Friday, February 5th.
Just before the Christmas I was contacted by a past client to shoot a special portrait session for his wife. He wanted to create a shoot based on his wife’s favorite storybook – Alice in Wonderland. Before I got to shoot this session I was quite nervous of how it would work out since I have never done something this unique before. Well, I think it turned out amazing! These are by far some of my favorite portraits I have taken thus far. Thank you Ryan for contacting me to shoot this very creative session. I hope these images move you.

Do you ever have one of those days where everything comes together so well, it’s almost like it was planned just for you? Well, I had one of those days. I’ve been worried about organizing this upcoming workshop with Shannon Sewell (www.shannonsewell.com). I had nightmares last night that only a hand full of people (my parents) signed up for this workshop I’ve worked so hard to put together. Alas, it was just a nightmare…and today was the dream. I have officially organized from head to toe, with a little inspiration from some great friends, and push from my amazing hubby Mike, my first workshop with a pro. This workshop is just a small/big step to where I want to be…but really in reality, I’m just a photographer with a passion to network & learn from as many of my idols as possible. Shannon Sewell was on that list of idols. Thank you to all the photographers that signed up for this SOLD OUT workshop! Going back to Mike, he has always pushed me to reach as high as I can. I have reached higher than I ever thought I would this week. Thanks handsome.
Even when we’re testing light, he still looks so handsome. P.S Take note of my awesome renovations in the back. Help?!

Here’s a glimpse at my typical Friday night. I like to exercise my photography skills and try out things I’ve always wanted to do. For example, long exposure photography & off camera flash. This evening, Mike and I tried to go check out the Olympic torch run, but no luck. I’m pretty sure everyone in Red Deer was at the Westerner this evening. So instead of going home defeated, we tried out some new things. Most of these photos came from seeing THIS IMAGE a while back. Anyways, I’m not usually in photos because believe it or not, I’m quite shy when it comes to having my picture taken. Enjoy these captures.
