MIDNIGHT SESSIONS | RED DEER PHOTOGRAPHY

Here’s a glimpse at my typical Friday night. I like to exercise my photography skills and try out things I’ve always wanted to do. For example, long exposure photography & off camera flash. This evening, Mike and I tried to go check out the Olympic torch run, but no luck. I’m pretty sure everyone in Red Deer was at the Westerner this evening. So instead of going home defeated, we tried out some new things. Most of these photos came from seeing THIS IMAGE a while back. Anyways, I’m not usually in photos because believe it or not, I’m quite shy when it comes to having my picture taken. Enjoy these captures.

CELEBRATING ONE YEAR | PERSONAL

These are some of my favorite images from the past 12 months. I can’t believe I have being doing what I truly love to do for a year.

I thought I’d start out with posting a pic of myself. SWEET MUSTACHIO!

Thank you to everyone that has supported me in the past year. I had a great time with all my clients, and I can’t wait to do it all over again next year!

CANVAS COLLECTIONS CONTEST | ODDS & END

First off, who doesn’t like free stuff? And secondly, who doesn’t like helping others out? Here’s the deal: I need some art for my home studio, so I’ve been busy designing canvas collections that will be going on one of the walls in my basement studio space. The piece is 60″ x 16″ and it’s made up of different sizes of gallery wrapped canvases. I can never make up my mind when it comes down to choosing which will be the final studio piece, so I figured I’d make it into a contest for my past clients (and their friends). Every piece I designed is from a past wedding this year. I want you to vote for your favorite piece that you think will look the best in my studio, and in the home of the lucky couple that get’s the most votes. Why? Because I’m going to be giving the winning couple a free canvas collection. And to top it all off, each couple will have the option to purchase these canvas collections for 60% OFF! This offer will close on December 15th, and I will no longer be taking orders for the canvas collections until January. If you know any of these people, and you think they would love to have an Andrea Wiseman Photography canvas collection, then go to the poll below and VOTE! VOTING WILL END AT *update* 8 PM OF DECEMBER 11th!

GIVING IS AWESOME IN RED DEER | ODDS & ENDS

This past weekend, I was looking for ideas of how I would like to give back to the community for next year. I heard (via the twitter grapevine) of  “Giving is Awesome”. It’s a simple effort by photographers worldwide to give back to their own communities. Each photographer is encouraged to donate a session to a deserving person or couple.

I know you know someone that’s been affected by tragedy or someone who might have an amazing story to tell. I would love to be there to document the lives of an amazing couple that’s been through it all. It’s time to tell their story with photography and to give them the gift of art. Since I specialize in couples/wedding photography, I would like you to nominate a couple (straight or gay) that are very deserving of this donation.

This winner of this contest will receive a free lifestyle session in the Spring, with the DVD of ready to print images.

The nominator will also receive a little treat for being awesome!

The rules:

* You CANNOT nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a two-million-dollar-vacation-home in Paris does not qualify as sincere financial need.)

* The nominee must reside in Red Deer, Alberta. Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.

* You must e-mail me the full story : andrea@andreawiseman.com

The winner will be announced on Christmas Eve — get nominating! I can’t wait to read all of your entries!

Open your heart to someone this holiday season — and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.

Cheers!

+Andrea

And because every post deserves a cute photo, here I am hanging out in a grove of trees… No big deal.
