480 miles from home | PERSONAL

I just got back from a short stay in Nelson, B.C. If you haven’t been there yet, please go. I can not believe how lucky some people are to wake up in such a place. I spent two amazing days with my best friend, who is about to embark on yet another epic journey…and before she does, I wanted to visit and say good-bye. Here are some photos from our trip.

An abandoned house just outside of Cranbrook.

This is me. Mike has decided to start taking photos of me as evidence of my existence.

Just before getting onto the Crawford Bay ferry. It’s about a 30 minute ferry ride to Balfour on Kootenay Lake.

I couldn’t resist posting this one. This is Ode, my best friend and tour guide extraordinaire.

The trip has come to an end quickly. But I will be back one day.

Excitement & Pride | Personal

Hello! I’ve got some great news to share… I am officially a graduate of a 4 year photography program in Calgary! I am feeling excited & nervous. Mostly nervous because I want to keep as busy as when I attended classes. For those of you that don’t know much about me, I have been treeplanting for the past 7 years to keep ahead of the student loan debt. This will be my 8th season in the bush. I will be leaving this coming week and I should be back by mid-June. If you need to get a hold of me, I will be very accessible by email and I will be checking my phone messages daily. For the blog stalkers (mom & karin), I will be shooting a few portraits sessions while I’m in Penticton. I will be posting teasers & some personal shots to show everyone how the summer’s going. I should be back to full force on July 3rd, my first e-session of the summer!
